The transition to the digital building
Building automation is in a state of change: Following the Industry 4.0 trend, we also see an increase in intercommunication between and within building automation systems using the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud services. The demonstration of feasibility and functions as well as evaluation of cloud-based building controls are key aspects of the research project "Next Generation of Building Automation Technologies" (NextGenBAT). Recent research focuses primarily on the specifications and operating limits of such systems, business cases and marketing, investigation of security gaps and risks as well as system structures and the development of APIs for implementing control applications and analyses.
Currently, we are still noticing a large gap between technology providers and investors, so that the developed methods and devices are only occasionally used in practice. Frequently, requirements that are not met by cloud-based building automation are supposed to be the reason for this. In order to consider these requirements in the development process, it is important to strengthen the dialog between providers and users. With this in mind, we warmly invite you to our upcoming online workshop regarding the topic "The Transition to the Digital Building" on November 26, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The presentations will be hold in German. We would like to see a lively exchange of ideas between all interest groups, whether they are building owners, planners, system integrators, operators, etc.
An exciting program with lectures by well-known industry representatives awaits you. Have you been curious about what the new technologies can effectively achieve? How safe and secure are the system's connections to the Internet? The subsequent podium discussion will provide an opportunity for direct exchange with our speakers and with each other.
The event is free of charge, registration can be done on our website (https://nextgenbat.de/events/online-workshop2020-2). There you will also find further information such as the preliminary program.
On our website www.nextgenbat.de you will also find numerous food for thought and recordings of the contributions of our last workshop.
If you have colleagues/partners who are also interested in this topic, feel free to refer this workshop to them.
We are looking forward to your participation!
